🐎 Rounding out this year’s Mini Grant recipients is Halfway to Heaven Mustang Rescue, awarded $1,000 for their inspiring mission to save, rehabilitate, and rehome mustangs.
💙 Halfway to Heaven’s President, Lisa Mallory, spoke about the value of the award money to their cause and shared the heart behind their work:
“As an organization, we not only work with equines, we work with a lot of children. Education is huge… the next generation, we want them to learn why these equines, why these wild horses are so important to our culture and to our country.” 🐎
Their mission reminds us that service and stewardship often begin with understanding—and that compassion for animals can shape compassionate communities. We’re proud to stand beside them in this work and call them part of our Village. 💛
Our next $500 Mini Grant celebrates a local organization where creativity and confidence take center stage—Glam Stars Institute of Dance! 🌟
🪩 Through the art of dance, Glam Stars helps students develop discipline, teamwork, and self-expression, empowering young people to shine both on and off the stage. Their commitment to building confidence through the arts perfectly aligns with our mission of nurturing the whole child.
We’re honored to support their incredible work and can’t wait to see their dancers continue to sparkle! ✨
Horse Creek Academy is looking for a reliable, flexible, student-centered team player to step in where needed and keep learning moving forward. If you’re calm under pressure, love building relationships, and believe in the power of a Village, we’d love to meet you.!💙

At Horse Creek Academy, we believe learning and leadership happen in many forms—and sometimes, it starts on the green. 💙
⛳️ We’re proud to award a $500 Mini Grant to First Tee of Aiken, a program that uses the game of golf to teach far more than putts and drives. Through mentorship and hands-on learning, First Tee helps kids build confidence, character, and life skills that last well beyond the course.
🏌️♀️🏌️This year, the grant funds will be used to purchase equipment and staffing for specialized golf clinics designed for students with disabilities, expanding access and inclusion for even more young learners.
We’re so thankful for the difference they’re making in the lives of children right here in our community. 💙
Horse Creek Academy is looking for a Special Education Aide who is a true team player — someone reliable, flexible, compassionate, and dedicated to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
If you have a heart for helping every child reach their potential and thrive, we’d love to have you join our Village! 💙

💙 Mr. Shackleton has been a dedicated part of our Village for many years, faithfully serving and supporting HCA—even after his son, Lincoln, graduated. His steady leadership, thoughtful insight, and genuine care for our students, staff, and families have made a lasting impact on our school community.
💛 We are so grateful for the time and energy he has poured into helping guide HCA forward. His presence on the board will be deeply missed, but his legacy of service and commitment to the Village will continue on.
Let’s show Mr. Shackleton some love in the comments and thank him for all he has done for HCA! 👏👏👏

📅✨ Big news, Village!
The HCA Board has officially approved our 2026–2027 Academic Calendar!
We’re excited to share this early so families can plan trips, milestones, and all the fun things that make life outside of school special. 💙💛
🧐 You’ll notice more half days in next year’s calendar. These are intentional—giving our teachers valuable time for professional development, collaboration, and focused work on campus. When our staff have the time and space to learn, plan, and grow together, it directly benefits our students in the classroom.
🙌 And by using half days, we’re able to provide this important work time without extending the school year past that first week of June.
👏 Thank you to our Board, Limestone, and SCDE for supporting this request. We’re excited to continue balancing strong learning time for students with the flexibility our Village values.
