Today is a day when many pause to reflect on gratitude, and we want to share ours with you. We are deeply thankful for the students, families, staff, and partners who pour so much heart into HCA all year long.
However you’re spending this day—celebrating, resting, gathering, or simply enjoying a quiet moment—we hope it brings you warmth and joy!
🍂 We are the Village. 🍂

If your schedule feels a little extra this time of year, same here 😆 — so we pulled together a quick Spirit Day roadmap from December through June to help keep things easy! And, don't worry, we'll send this out again and have it on the website once we get back from break 💙
Take a look at the flyer below 👇 and save it wherever you keep your “stay organized” essentials. If our Village loves having this at a glance, we’ll roll out a full August–June version next school year! We will also let you know if anything changes on this one 😉
🌻 Thanks for growing with us, showing up big, and keeping the HCA spirit shining bright. We love getting better together 💙
🦃 Hope everyone is having a great start to Thanksgiving Break!

🍭 This fall, our HCA Village rallied behind our Make Life Sweeter initiative — a special project dedicated to bringing joy to children battling cancer. We were proud to partner with the Fulghum family, including Anastasia, an HCA graduate and cancer survivor who continues to inspire our community.
💙 Thanks to the many students who supported this effort by purchasing a sweet treat from our canteen, we raised funds to buy toys for the Children’s Hospital of Georgia. Delivering smiles to kids fighting cancer is something we look forward to every year, and it remains one of the most meaningful traditions on our campus.
👏 A huge thank you to the Fulghum family, to Kristin Trowell (our incredible HCA Café Lead), and to the wonderful staff at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia for helping us spread some much-needed sweetness.

🚓 Horse Creek Academy is proud to welcome Officer Kris Howard — our FIRST-EVER School Resource Officer (SRO)!
Officer Howard officially joined our team this week as a full-time presence on campus, supporting our students, staff, and families. From his very first meetings with our leadership team, it was clear that he shares our commitment to connection, safety, and community partnership—the heart of what makes HCA special. 💙💛
This partnership was made possible through collaboration with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Department and Sheriff Marty Sawyer, whose support helped bring this new level of safety and engagement to our school.
Please help us give Officer Howard a big HCA welcome in the comments below! 👇
Let’s show him what it means to be part of the Village! 🏇🏻💙

🥈 Across all grade levels, HCA received an Average overall rating, reflecting a strong foundation for continued growth in the 2025-26 school year.
🌻 At HCA, growth is never just about scores — it’s about becoming stronger together. We’re committed to steady, meaningful progress and the kind of growth that lasts a lifetime. Our story has always been one of purpose and progress. We’ll keep striving for excellence, lifting one another up, and growing stronger together — the Village way. 💛💙
