🎉 PROGRESS WORTH CELEBRATING!
The 2026 South Carolina School Report Cards are here, and we have some exciting progress to celebrate at Horse Creek Academy!
🎓 HIGH SCHOOL: Our overall score jumped TEN points, from 56 to 66, moving from Average to GOOD — and just ONE point away from EXCELLENT!
📈 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: Our overall score increased SIX points, from 46 to 52, earning an Average rating and bringing us within just ONE point of GOOD!
💙 MIDDLE SCHOOL: Our overall rating remained Average, but we have big plans for the year ahead and are already seeing encouraging progress! We're especially proud that our School Climate rating improved from AVERAGE to GOOD!
And there's even more to celebrate!
⭐ High School Graduation Rate: EXCELLENT
⭐ High School Career Readiness: EXCELLENT (up from Average!)
⭐ High School School Climate: GOOD (up from Average!)
⭐ Middle School School Climate: GOOD (up from Average!)
These results reflect the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers, counselors, administrators, and staff, and the support of the families who make up our Village.
But as we celebrate, we also want to remember something important: We are SO MUCH MORE than a score or rating.
A state report card is one measure of our success, but it can't fully capture the relationships built, the confidence gained, the opportunities created, or the countless ways our students grow beyond the classroom.
Academic achievement matters. Growth matters. Accountability matters. Connection matters. We will celebrate our progress, acknowledge where we need to improve, and keep doing the work to get better.
Because at Horse Creek Academy, we're proud of our accomplishments, but we're even prouder of who makes up our Village. 💛
📰 Want to learn more? Read our full report card recap, including a special message from Dr. Taylor, here: https://www.hcacs.net/article/3199930
🔎 Want to explore the data yourself? You can dig into our full South Carolina School Report Cards anytime! The link is always available at hcacs.net under About → Accountability.

📄 Quarter 1 Copy Paper Drive! 📄
We're wrapping up the first quarter, and HCA could use a little help keeping the paper flowing! 💛
From classroom activities and worksheets to creative projects and everyday learning, copy paper is one of those supplies our teachers and students use ALL day, EVERY day! And with nearly 1,500 students, you can imagine how quickly we go through it!
📦 We're collecting reams of copy paper! Donations can be dropped off during school hours at either our Elementary or Middle/High School office.
✅ Don't forget to log your donation in Track It Forward! Learn more about our Village Volunteers program and log your donation here: https://www.hcacs.net/page/village-volunteers
As a reminder, each HCA family is expected to make at least one donation per quarter. If you haven't made your Quarter 1 donation yet, this is a simple and meaningful way to check that box while supporting our teachers and students!
✏️ And here's another reason we're especially grateful for paper donations this year! Our Purposeful Tech Initiative in Middle/High School is going wonderfully! We're being more intentional about screen time and creating more opportunities for hands-on, paper-and-pencil learning. Less screen time means a little more paper, and we're happy to make that trade!
Thank you for always stepping up for our school! It's the little things, like a ream of paper, that make a BIG difference when an entire Village comes together! 💙

Welcome Back, Village! 🍂
Good morning, HCA! We hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Fall Break filled with rest, relaxation, and a little fall fun! We're excited to have our students and staff back on campus as we jump into another great week!
📚 Today, October 19, marks the end of Quarter 1! Can you believe we're already a quarter of the way through the school year?
📱 Speaking of Quarter 1, we're going DIGITAL with report cards this year! This week is a great time for families to log into PowerSchool, whether through the app or website, and make sure you're ready to go.
On Report Card Day, Tuesday, October 27, families will be able to view their child's Quarter 1 report card grades directly in PowerSchool instead of waiting for an email! It's a simpler, more convenient way to stay connected to your child's academic progress.
Here's to a great week back and all the exciting things ahead in Quarter 2!
We're glad to have our Village back together! 💙💛

🔵 Talk about a FULL CIRCLE moment!
Once a Stallion, always a Stallion! 🐴
Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming HCA alumna, Class of 2026 Valedictorian, and current Lander University student Kearsten Todd back to campus — this time as a representative of Lander's Teaching Fellows program!
Kearsten visited Dr. Green's Early Childhood Education class to share information about the Teaching Fellows program and the opportunities available to students interested in pursuing a career in education. 🍎
Just a few months ago, Kearsten was walking our halls as a high school student. Now she's back, inspiring the next generation of future educators!
One of the best parts of being a 4K–12 school is getting to watch our students grow, graduate, and find their own paths. And moments like this, when they come back to pour into the Village that helped shape them, make it even more special.
Kearsten, we're so proud of you! Thank you for coming back to HCA and sharing your journey with our students! 💛

🎉💙💛 ELEMENTARY VILLAGE, WE DID IT!!!
We didn't just reach our $20,000 Boosterthon goal… WE CRUSHED IT!!! 🏃♀️🏃♂️🎉
Thanks to our AMAZING elementary families, students, and supporters, we've officially unlocked some pretty awesome rewards!
🍧 EVERY elementary student will receive an ice pop during lunch when we return from October Break!
🐺 Every registered student has earned a FREE Great Wolf Lodge Water Park Day Pass!
👟 And of course we have our FUN RUN tommorrow!
But wait… we're not done yet! 👀
🎃 We've got a STRETCH GOAL of $25,000, and if we reach it, the grade with the MOST donations gets to turn Mrs. Heath into a MUMMY! 🧻😂
That's right. Just in time for Halloween, one lucky class will get to wrap Mrs. Heath up in toilet paper, and something tells us our elementary students are going to LOVE this one! Don't worry...we will video it lol.
We've already accomplished something incredible, Village. Now let's see if we can take it just a little further before tomorrow's Fun Run!
📲 Keep sharing those pages at mybooster.com!
