Chris Martinez
Raised in South Carolina, Mr. Martinez is now in his 12th year in education. He has served as Director of Bands at Fox Creek High School. Mr. Martinez attended the University of South Carolina where he earned his Bachelor of Music in Music Education. While attending USC, Mr. Martinez performed with the "Mighty Sound of the Southeast" USC Marching Band, Symphonic Band, and Concert Bands. He received his Master's in Education- Supervision and Administration at SWU.
Under the direction of Mr. Martinez, his program gained recognition across the state of South Carolina and he will bring that same energy to Horse Creek Academy as the Related Arts Assistant Principal and Band Director!
When Mr. Martinez isn't teaching or performing with Savannah River Winds, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Erin, family, cooking, and playing with his dog, Chloe. He holds professional affiliations with the South Carolina Band Directors Association, South Carolina Music Educators Association, and Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity.
