This is my sixth year as an administrator at Horse Creek Academy, and I am so proud to serve as the Middle and High School Lead. I spent my first three years in administration as the Elementary Lead and truly value the opportunity to work with students and staff across all grade levels.

I earned my B.A. in Special Education from the University of South Carolina Aiken and my Master’s in Administration Leadership from Southern Wesleyan University. Before moving into administration, I taught special education K–12 for five years in South Carolina, including my first two years here at HCA. During my time in the classroom, I helped implement school-wide behavior and academic intervention programs to better serve students in grades K–12. I also created a job experience program for students with disabilities, giving them hands-on employability skills that helped many secure meaningful employment after high school.

In recognition of this work, I was honored as the Division on Career Development and Transition’s (DCDT) Transition Special Education Teacher of the Year for 2018–2019. I have also had the opportunity to present professional development to hundreds of South Carolina educators on topics such as using games in the classroom to motivate learning and building effective work experience programs.

Outside of school, I enjoy kayaking, traveling abroad, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. I am a passionate educator and child advocate, and I am excited to continue serving HCA’s students, teachers, and families in this role.
